Betsie Trail

As many of you know, a dear friend of ours, Betsie Och, passed away at the end of February. In dedication to her, we have created our first trail

in the back in her name. We had to cut through a ton of blackberry bushes, trees and miscellaneous bushes. The trail starts at our dining room door brings you down to the creek and then loops back to the house. We try to do it each week for its a quiet path that we know she would love. All our love!

Patio and Roof deck

Scott spent all day yesterday digging the patio area. Pretty

impressive how much he was able to do yesterday when the

weather was in the 90's.

The roof deck has a bunch of veggies growing in it which

has been our source of lettuce, mint, chives and arugula

so far this summer. Delicous on our salads.

Ground breaking for New Back Patio

So summer time finally started this week with 90 degree weather. Time
for breaking ground in the back for a wrap around patio. Scott has
been trying to decide materials and the final design on a daily basis. I see him out
there trying to visualize how it will all come together. We want to
be able to have a covered area to BBQ in the summer and when its raining.
Here are some shots of the first week of digging. I added a picture
of our veggies on the roof top. Planted some lettuce,
mint, basil, carrots and arugula which is growing well. Which reminds me, have to get up there
to water everything. It was in the 90s this week and then in the 80s this weekend.
